Andre Soares is a classically trained pianist with a BFA (Music), and B.Ed fromYork University. He has also attended the Humber College Music Program. He has been teaching and performing in the Toronto area. His focus is Jazz. As a freelance musician, he performs as a soloist, as well as with duos, trios, quartets and ensembles. His debut recording of his original tunes, Fanthems, was released in February 2015 with his band, AKOUSTIC ELEKTRIC http://akousticelektric.weebly.com. He is currently working on his follow-up recording.
Andre Soares has performed on cruise ships, at concert halls, restaurants, wedding receptions and private functions at various venues such as the TIFF Bell Lightbox, Koerner Hall, Taste of the Danforth, Mel Lastman Square, Fairmont Royal York, Toronto Hunt, The Distillery District, Beaches Jazz Festival, Newmarket Music Festival and the TD Jazz Festival. He performs jazz, latin, ballroom dance, classical and rock music.
